12/3/07

Today Shaun and I did our timeline on our new website.  We worked together on the phone to figure out what we were going to do each day of the week.  We both agreed that we are going to work at each others houses on the weekends.  I played around on the new website so I could get familiar with the pbwiki.  Overall I think I understand it pretty well, but I still have a few questions.

During class I was confused, but when I got home and used the website I understood it a lot better.  Mrs. Jansen should have allowed us to work with her while she was showing us what to do.  I added all the tabs to the side bar tonight and tomorrow Shaun and I are going to add more stuff.  I think that this project is going to be fun.

12/4/07

Today Shaun and I worked in class on our webpage.  We played around with pbwiki and got more familiar with it.  I believe that now it is going to be much easier to begin our project because we have a good understanding of the system we are using.  Working in class was very frustrating because the internet at school is very slow.

Tonight on our timeline we aren’t scheduled to do anything.  I worked on gathering notes that are just general ideas about our bacteria.  I needed to do this because I had no idea what our bacteria was good for.  It is much easier to edit the webpage at home because my internet is much faster at home than it is at school.   

12/5/07

Today Shaun and I didn’t get very much work done in class because Mrs. Jansen came and talked to us about our project.  She taught us how to evaluate websites.  Her talk was very interesting because I didn’t know there was so much crap on the internet.  Some of the stuff she showed us was very funny so that made it very enjoyable.

Tonight I didn’t get very much work done because I have to wake up very early tomorrow morning for a basketball tournament.  Because of this I am going to have more work to do over the weekend. D

12/6/07

Today I didn’t get any work done on our project because I was at a basketball tournament all day.  This weekend I am going to work very hard to answer all the questions I was supposed to answer today.

12/7-12/9

This Friday Shaun and I got assigned  a new bacteria which is kind of frustrating.  We had been working all of last week on our old bacteria, but there was not much information on it.  The new bacteria has a lot more information, so in the end it is going to be a good thing that we got a new bacteria.  The new bacteria we got is a lot more interesting than our old one.

Shaun was out of town all weekend, but he is going to come over to my house tomorrow.  We are going to try to get a lot of work done tomorrow.  Shaun and I changed the webpage a little bit today, we added a new picture to the front page.  We are having a little bit of trouble getting started, but I’m sure that after tomorrow we will be fine.

12/10/07

Today Shaun came to my house and we did a lot of work on the website.  We found some good current events.  We also found some background information, but we need to check with Ms. Tucker to see if we found the right type of bacteria.  Shaun and I also found a good video to go along with our bacteria.

Tomorrow in class we are going to ask Ms. Tucker about our information.  If we found the right information then we will be close to finished.  We are just going to have to add a few more facts and some more pictures. 

12/11/07

Today Shaun and I worked in class together to add new pictures to our website.  We found some cool pictures of huge oil spills that look snazzy on our web page.  Our webpage is coming along very well and this weekend Shaun and I are going to work again to finish it.

Tomorrow I plan on working on Source Aid to make our bibliography better.  I don’t like source aid because for websites it is often hard to find all of the information.  I get very frustrated while using source aid.

12/12/07

Today I talked to Mrs. Jansen about Source Aid and she helped me a lot.  She made it much easier for me to use.  When I use it I don’t get frustrated anymore.  Mrs. Jansen also gave me the good news that we don’t have to cite our pictures. 

Today I found a video about our bacteria, but we can’t load it to our page because the video is from the Streaming website.  So in order to access the video you have to have a password and username.  It is a quick video, but it is informative on our bacteria.  I am going to try to work on Sunday to load it again.

12/13/07

Today Shaun and I worked again to find new information on our webpage.  Our website still has some open tabs that we need to fill out.  We are having trouble finding history on our bacteria.  We are also having trouble finding problems with the loss of our bacteria. 

I am looking forward to the weekend when Shaun and I can sit down together and finish this project.  Shaun is going to come over on Sunday.  Shaun found a new current event article on our bacteria and an awesome new picture to go with it.  I hope everyone likes our pictures we put on.

12/14-12/16

This weekend Shaun and I are getting together on Sunday to finish the project.  Today Shaun came to my house and we finished up the project.  We worked for a solid 5 hours this morning and then sent it in.  Most of the stuff we did today was just adding pictures and games to the website.  I made a cool word search for the web page. 

Shaun and I spent a lot of time today trying to find the nutritional requirements for our bacteria.  We looked on all the school databases and found absolutely nothing.  We then looked on the free web and found some information, but it wasn’t exactly what we were looking for.  We are going to put it into our webpage, but say that it’s what we believe after reading about our bacteria.
